Don't waste your money (2010-07-31) Rating: 2/5
Despite the problems some have reported for this piece of luggage, we took a chance and purchased it anyway because of Travelpro's reputation and the color. A big mistake. The handle was defective out of the box and would not fully extend. Read the reviews and you'll see that others have had issues with the handle as well. The return to Amazon was easy. We replaced it with the Eagle Creek Travel Gear Hovercraft 22 Upright Luggage. A little more money but the quality and design is better, not to mention the warranty. Spend a little more and get Eagle Creek instead of Travelpro - you won't be disappointed.
Does the job! (2010-07-06) Rating: 4/5
I purchased this bag to avoid checked bag fees. We previously always check our bags. We were quite pleased with how this bag performs. It has been on two trips and is easy to pack. I love the large roomy outside pockets to stash last minute items in. The layout is great and I was able to pack more than my husband in his generic 22-inch suitcase.
I would recommend this bag to anyone who would like to avoid paying baggage fees! So far so good. The zippers and wheels are great!
Great luggage (2010-05-25) Rating: 5/5
After doing some research I came about this product!!! This is awesome product that is very sturdy and would last for a long time. It fits perfectly on the carry-on compartment. Highly recommended.
Better for non-airline use (2010-05-25) Rating: 2/5
I purchased this a year ago after reading such great reviews at Amazon about this product. At first, it was mostly used for weekend getaways by car which it's fine for. I'm not sure what the airline pilot's complaint about the interior being strange refers to, but I have no general issues with that. I don't like the expandable section. There are two exterior zippers. One to expand the dimensions for packing more stuff and one to open the compartment. I'm forever mixing up the two when I'm in rush.
I do agree with his complaints about it not fitting in the overhead bin. I went to New Orleans last year and without stuffing it or expanding it, this luggage barely fit into the bin. I stuffed it in, but thought the bin door would pop open it was so tight.
I got it at a great deal at BBB because they had discontinued it plus used a 20% of coupon. Now, I need it again for another trip and have the concern of getting it in the overhead bin. I can't comment at all about the durability as mine has seen minimal travelling and been treated very gently. However, I wouldn't recommend it just for the bin problem.
Great suitcase for the money (2010-04-30) Rating: 5/5
On a recent business trip my generic "Walmart" suitcase broke, leaving the telescoping handle fully extended for the last leg of my trip. I decided that it was time to upgrade and looked for a nice suitcase at the local mall. I found a travel pro that I liked, however they didn't have it in stock. I looked online and found one from this seller at a great price (cheaper than in the store even after shipping). I had another business trip coming up the following week and was somewhat hesitant to make this purchase - I needed a good suitcase fairly quick, and that is exactly what I got! I was amazed at the speed of delivery (especially with the "super saver shipping") and was thoroughly pleased with the bag's quality when I opened the box.
I would highly recommend this product.
