Product Description:
Timbuk2 Luggage Tag
A luggage tag that lets the other bags know you've arrived. Constructed with a clear urethane window in the front, durable nylon backing, and rugged attachment point that won't rip or tear, this tag yearns for the cargo hold.

Not worth it (2010-08-31) Rating: 1/5
I bought two of these - one each for my wife and I - despite the negative reviews claiming the cables break off and the tags go missing.
Well, both of ours went missing after our first one-way trip with them on checked luggage. I can't imagine they were stolen (and especially both), so I'd have to assume they broke off. Luckily I bought some cheaper plastic ones that stayed on just fine.
Conclusion: don't buy, they will probably fall off (the wire cable looks sturdy, but the crimping must be weak).
Great Luggage Tag (2010-08-30) Rating: 4/5
I have not experienced the weak cable that one reviewer has. I have pulled on the tags quite hard with no signs of weakness. These tags look great with nylon luggage such as day packs, duffel bags etc. The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 was because the green tag was not as shown (light lime green front/back). I have purchased 5 of these tags in various colors. They look great.
Do not buy. One good yank and the cable breaks! (2010-06-27) Rating: 1/5
Based on the positive reviews I bought three of these. Big mistake. Just grab hold of the metal cable with your hands and give a good pull and POP! the cable slips out of the crimped-on threaded holder. Then there is nothing holding the tag on and it will be lost. Useless.
ALL THREE OF THEM came apart with one yank.
When I pulled just as hard on the cheapo vinyl/fabric tags I bought years ago at Wal-Mart, they held up just fine.
I checked the manufacturer's web page and it also has user reviews for this item. Interestingly, some of the reviewers claim their tags were stolen by airport personnel. I really doubt that any of them actually knew this for a fact; all they knew was that the tags weren't on anymore by the time they got to baggage claim. I suspect their cables failed, too. Just a theory.
Now, if you take the cables off and replace them with something more reliable (like tying the tags on with a short bit of nylon cord with a good knot) they might stay on. But I'm very unhappy with the quality of what I got for the money.
Tough & Secure (2010-05-15) Rating: 5/5
This tag secure wire is the best on the market and just survived a six plane trip.
A luggage tag (2010-04-01) Rating: 4/5
This is just a luggage tag... so I can't muster the enthusasim to grant five cards. But that is not due to any deficit in the luggage tag. It is after all.. just a luggage tag.
But, as luggage tags go, it is well made with a steel cable and has a professional look that will hold a business card without any risk of loss.
