Great backback (2010-03-22) Rating: 5/5
My husband had recently purchased a new laptop and needed a carrying bag. His 15.6 inch laptop easily fits this bag. There is plenty of storage for other items. The backpack seems to be well made and should last for a long time.
Great backpack for the road warrior! (2010-03-10) Rating: 5/5
Got this backpack to replace another Swiss Gear pack that I had. I travel quite frequently and need a bag that is light and durable, with plenty of space for the work that I need to take along. This bag is great. It is much lighter than my older bag with loaded with the same load. It's also made of very durable fabric, and the compartments have a ton of room and flexibility to them. My only complaint would be the very front pocket, which is used to hold pens, etc. The zipper for this pocket is protected under what I assume is a rain flap. It makes it hard to open and close the zipper with one hand.
It ain't FAKE. I liked it a lot! (2010-03-07) Rating: 4/5
First of all, this product ain't fake. Yes it's made in China, but it's a licensed product from Swissgear trademark owners.
Even if it's fake, I kinda liked it. Tough construction, materials ain't cheap, and it looks like it will last for years. I've been using the bag for more than 1 month already. I carry 2 phones, A 14.5" laptop w/ 12cell battery, an external harddrive and a couple extra shirts every day. It holds em up pretty good. Just wanna add, if you have a laptop bigger than 14.5", you might wanna think again, coz the padded laptop sleeve won't completely cover your notebook if it get's any bigger than that. Also, the bag always looks big even if there's nothing in it. I don't mind it though, I just mentioned it for those of you who would like to consider that.
Im going abroad in a month and I tried fitting stuffs in it, and guess what, 2 jeans, 4 shirts, a slip on shoe size 8.5, tootbrush, toothpaste, deostick, travel documents, laptop, charger, 3 phones, a wireless mouse and 2 bottled water. And I think i could still fit some other stuff in it. By the way, I got it for $35+ back then. And I'm glad i did. coz now it's around $60. But still, if i hadn't bought it...I'd still buy it for $60 now. I guess goodbye Jansport.
Great Value but not too sure about the color (2010-02-23) Rating: 5/5
This is no doubt a great backpack. It is a good value for the money.
Pros
1. The number of compartments. There is space for everything and more. I have my laptop and three folders that fit in.
2. The backload does not seem a lot. The weight is well distributed
3. The quality of material used seems very durable though will have to see (I have used it for a couple of months now)
4. Watertight. I have used it in the rain and the things inside seemed safe
5. Fits my macbook. I think should fit upto 15in laptop.
Cons
1. The color. The color is sort of metallic blue which I am not very pleased with
2. The bag is sort of clumsy. It makes a lot of noise.
3. The number of compartments is a little too many. This makes some of them totally useless or neglected
4. The side pockets for holding waterbottle and other things is made too small. This is personal experience. others might find it different.
But, overall the cons are more of a preference/annoyance rather than anything seriously wrong with the bag. I would recommend it.
I love it (2010-02-22) Rating: 5/5
It's been a few years since I've had a back pack. I was using a sholder bag for a long time, but it just got too heavy. I ordered this bag because the price was right, it has lots a space to store things and I've seen a lot of other people with Swiss Gear bags. So far I really like it. It has plenty of space for all of my junk and I like the way it looks too. The one small (very small) complaint is that the zipper on the front bottm area isn't as smooth as the rest of the zippers. Not that I can't use it, but it's just sticks a little bit. Over all I would buy this back pack again.
